UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS 
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 
 
Purpose: To approve amendments to the Human Resources Policy Manual, which manual was 
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands on March 9, 2013 
 
 
WHEREAS, at the December  13, 2012 meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees 
of the University of the Virgin Islands, the Executive Committee, acting for the Board, approved the 
Human Resources Policy Manual; and 
 
WHEREAS, at the March 9, 2013 meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Board ratified the Executive 
Committee's approval of the Human Resources Policy Manual; and 
 
WHEREAS, during a meeting on May 19, 2016, the President of the University of the Virgin Islands 
(the University) submitted amendments to the Human Resources Policy Manual to the Finance and 
Budget Committee of the Board for the Committee's review and subsequent forwarding to the full Board 
for approval; and 
 
WHEREAS, after conducting that review, the Finance and Budget Committee voted to recommend 
to the full Board that the Board approve the proposed amendments to the Human Resources Policy 
Manual. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE 
UNIVERSITY THAT: 
 
1. Section 14.01 FILLING VACANCIES of the Human Resources Policy Manual, as amended, 
attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby approved. 
 
2. The President is authorized to take such action as is necessary to implement the amendments to 
the Policy, which amendments shall become effective upon a date determined by the President so 
as to allow prior publication in the University of the amendments to the Policy. 
 
CERTIFICATION 
 
The undersigned hereby certifies that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution of the 
Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on Saturday, June 4,
