Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands 
Approving the UVI Gift Acceptance Policy 
 
 
 
WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands will adopt the UVI Gift Acceptance 
Policy as a guide for accepting and processing gifts that are consistent with UVI’s 
Mission, and 
 
WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands will use this policy to conduct 
individualized assessments of the gifts received throughout Capital Campaign, and 
 
WHEREAS, the Development Committee of the UVI Board of Trustees and the Capital 
Campaign Committee will utilize the UVI Gift Acceptance Policy to increase the 
University’s capacity in securing external, private funding to assist in the ongoing 
programmatic growth of the Institution, and 
 
WHEREAS, the Development Committee has voted to recommend, to the Board of 
Trustees, the adoption of the UVI Gift Acceptance Policy; henceforth, providing the 
Institution with a comprehensive outline for receiving charitable contributions. 
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE 
UNIVERSITY: 
 
That the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands hereby authorizes and 
approves the establishment of the UVI Gift Acceptance Policy

The Undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a 
resolution approved by the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands at a
