Hulyah

Moore
left
it
vesterday.
After
a
period of upwards
of four
years
as Clerk
in tre Post
Office
at Christiansted,
Miss
Moore
resigned
effective
July 31,
1923,
for
the
purnose
of
studying
practical
nursin -
in
Ponce,
P.
R.
She
will
be
inis<ed by her
superiors
and inferiors
in
the Service
and she
will be
missed
by tha
general public of
Christiansted
town and
Country
Disiriet.
Miss
Moore’s
position
will
NOT
be
filled: as
a
matter
of p'ain
unvarnished
truth,
the VERY
PLACE
she
occupied
really CANNOT be
filled; but,
it is some
consolation
to the Service
that Mr.
Olaf
[.arsen
vwho for months
has
been
gratuit-
ously
assisting
his father,
the
Postmas-
ter,
thereby acquiring
a fair knowledge
of
the
work, will constituie
one
of
the
staff now that Miss
Moore has
ieft.
This
perhaps,
is

say
that
Mr.
Olaf Larsen
is
a
very
intelligent lad who
has
just graduated
trom the High School,
Caristiansted,
with
honors.
He is quick
ar figures,
has
an
excellent
memory
and
delights i1 tzekling knotty problems.

To
the
average
layman
the work
of a
postal
clerk is
just receiving mails
and,
well, delivering mails.

their
wishes
or demands.
To
do the latter
one
must
have constructive

nature

mentioned

to Miss Moore
