beginning
to
fuily reauize
the critical situation
created
by
the
triumphant
Greek
advance

Anatolia and what they regard
as
a

plete rupture of the

negotiations.
Chere

speculation
among
the
Turks
as
to how the Entente
Powers
will
deal with them
after the Greeks dominate
the Bagdad
railway,
whick'
now
seems
inevitable
to
the
people
here,
although
those
in the interior of
the
country
stiil
hope that
Mustapha
Kemal
may
check
the Greek advance.
Itis feared general-
ly among
the better
educated
Turks
that
the Greek will be
given

Mosque
of
Saint
Sofia
or
even
Constantinople
as
a
further
reward
for
their military suc
cesses.
Athens,
July 10th.—Brussa,
an import-
ant Asia Minor city,

by
Greek
forces,

prisoners

for

home.

were
informed

in the day that

claimed

Nationalists

The
Italians
claimed

policing

Greeks
