Bay
yesterday.
Heavy
rainfalls

ported

relieving
the long continued drought.

16th. —The
forces
of General
Wrangel,
the anti-Bolshevik
leader
on the Crimean
front,
arz
moving
northward from the Crimea
and
the Sea
of Azov
in
three
columns.
They
have
been
phenomenally ' successful
against
the Bolsheviki, having captured
4,000 pri-
soners
and forty big guns
out of
the
one
thousand
estimated
to be
in
the
posses-
sion
of
the
Bolshevists.
They
lost
800
men.
London,
June
16th.—Forecasts
that
the reply of the
_ouncil
of
the
League
of Nations
to
the
Persian
request
for
intervention
against
Bolshevist
aggres-
sion would
announce
the
postponement
of any final decision,
were borne
out by an
official staiement
made
this
morning.
The
Central
News
learns
that
as
the
re-
sult
of direct negotiations
between
Per-
sia
and Russia
the Soviet 'Foreign
Minis-
ter
has
announced
the readiness
of
the
Bolshevists
to
evacuate
Persia
under
certain
conditions.

15th.—The
Reso-
lute
won today in-the
race
with
the
Va-
nitie by two minutes
and
seven
seconds,
elapsed
time,
and
three
minutes
forty-
two seconds,
corrected
time.
The
course
was arranged
for a
Windward
and
Lee-
ward
race,
but the
wind
shifted
on.the
way,
making
the
last
ourteen
wilesa
roach
instead
of
a
run.
