An Act ratifying Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-13 (W) issued to the Virgin Islands

WHEREAS, Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-13 (W) was issued by the St.

Thomas Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Commission to the Virgin

Islands Port Authority on March 25, 2014, and approved by the Governor on April 8, 2014; and



WHEREAS, Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-13 (W) authorizes the Port

Authority to dredge approximately 12,665 yd? of material from the north side of Crown Bay

Cruise Ship Pier and in Crown Bay (West Gregerie Channel) to bring the bottom depth of the

North Berth, the basin area NE of the dolphin, and the area from the pier to the East Gregerie

Channel to 10 meters Mean Lower Low Water, as set forth in section II of the Permit; and



WHEREAS, the Permit also allows the Port Authority to dispose of the dredged material

on an old quarry site on St. Croix located west of the St. Croix Industrial Park and to install eight

buoys to create a defined channel between the North Pier and the East Gregerie Channel; and



WHEREAS, title 12, section 911 (e) of the Virgin Islands Code provides that the

Governor's approval of any coastal zone permit or lease issued under that section must be ratified

by the Legislature of the Virgin Isias.ds; Now, Therefore,



Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:



SECTION 1. Pursuant to 12 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 21, section 911 (e), the

Legislature ratifies Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-13 (W) issued to the Virgin Islands

Port Authority by the St. Thomas Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management

Commission on March 25, 2014, and approved by the Governor on April 8, 2014.



Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on J uly 23, 2014.
