Question: |s tt possible to extend the deadline for this RFP by 1-2 weeks?



Response: Unfortunately, the VIDE is unable to extend the RFP deadline.



.. Question: Do any of the schools listed in the RFP require. that fiber be run “aerially”.on



public utility poles or similar structure necessitating use of a bucket truck or similar

vehicle? If yes, which schools? If yes, has the VIDE already secure. the required “rights of

usage” or other permitting that maybe required?



Response: No.



Question: Do any of the schools listed in the RFP require new conduit to be installed

underground? If yes, which schools?



Response: Not to our knowledge, however in.the event a need is identified, the VIDE

is prepared to incur those additional charges.



_ Question: How many MDF and IDF locations exist:in each school?



Response: All Schools vary with the MDF and IDF locations, however this: .

information will be discussed as part of the initial phase with the awarded vendor.

Furthermore, the length for each:sit has already been identified.



« Question: Will it be permitted to perform work while school is in session?



Response: This is not recommended, however the necessary arrangements can be

made in some instances, if needed.



Question: Clarification regarding the Service Level Agreement as described in Section

L-5:

a. what is the total time period for which you are seeking “Support Services” and do you

‘expect that the cost for said Support Services will be a non-recurring or “Jump sum

charge for the entire period? Or would this be based on a separately negotiated

‘service/maintenance contract?



Response: The VIDE is requesting that a one-year ‘guarantee. be included as part of



‘the services. This guarantee should be made a part of the costs as a “lamp sum



“charge for the entire period.



Question: Under section B. Cat 6 Cabling Replacement, Termination and Certification

where there is the mention of the drop replacements. in the four schools, does this mean a

drop from the IT room to each classroom and office spaces?

Response: This means.that there should be a drop from MDF/IDF to classroom and/or

office.
