GOVERNOR MAPP NAMED MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL  
GOVERNORS ASSOCIATION ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND 
COMMERCE COMMITTEE  
  
  
(July 27, 2015, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands)  Governor Kenneth E Mapp was named a member 
of the National Governors Association (NGA) Economic Development and Commerce Committee by 
NGA Chair Utah Gov. Gary Herbert and NGAVice Chair Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.  
  
The Economic Development and Commerce Committee handles issues dealing with transportation 
infrastructure, telecommunications, international trade promotion, financial services regulation, 
science and technology development, and affordable housing. Members of the committee ensure that 
the governors’ views are represented in the shaping of federal policy.  
  
 “I look forward to serving on the NGA Economic Development and Commerce Committee,” said 
Governor Mapp. “As governors, we are uniquely positioned to influence federal legislation and 
regulations that affect economic development and commerce policies.”
