Greetings from UVI President Dr. LaVerne Ragster  
Good day UVI. This is LaVerne Ragster. I am honored to bring you greetings as the fourth president of our beloved 
University of the Virgin Islands. This is an exciting day for me and I am grateful to all of you that have expressed 
your good wishes and support for my tenure as president over last few weeks. I am proud to serve as the President of 
an institution that is committed to building the capacity of this Territory to guide and to realize its full potential. I 
also know that we can surpass the expectations of many people and facilitate the transformation of this society into 
one that will be viable in the 21st century, if we work together using the best of our collective skills, ideas and 
experiences. With your support and continued dedication to the mission of the University and to excellence in all 
that we do, I believe we will make a significant difference in the economic and social development of the US Virgin 
Islands.  
 
Thank you for being a part of the UVI community. I look forward to working with each of you to improve the lives 
of people in the Virgin Islands through our instructional programs, relevant research and much needed public 
service.
