the

sheriffs.

and
peace
officers
during the period

one
year
after
this
ordinance
shalil
come
into force,
and
at the ena of
the
period
of one
y ar,
the schedule
of fees
so
being
ceharged
by
the
law
courts,,

peace
officers,
and
notaries,
shall
be
submitted
to
the
gpespective
Colonial
Counetis
for
final
ratificaiion
or amendment
by
the
said Councis

accordance
with
the above,
kixecu-
tive
Order
Ne.
17-1920
was
originaliy
issued,
and it was subsequently
submit-
ted
to the Colonial Council and thereafier
amended
and
ratified, for one
year,
on
December
18,
1922 and
approved
by
the
Governor
on December
28,
1922
it
would seem
from
the above
that
in
view of the fact that
the Colonial Council
amended
and
ratified the
fees
for
one
year,
they should
have
been
again
rati-
fied on December
28,
1923.

of this executive order

transmitted,
with the
request
that
this
matter
be entered
on
the order
of
the
day for the
meetlog
of the
Colonial
Council scheduled
for
Monday

conpection,
it
would
appear
necessary
for
the
Colonial
Gounail
to
ratify
this exective
order
as of
Decem-
ber 28,
1923,
the date
when
its approval
expired,
ard
it
would further
appear
that it is not
necessary
(o limit its
vatifi-
cation to another
year,
since
the
Seciion
of of the Code above quoted
provides for
its
final ratification
or
amendment.
By
final ratification would not meaan
that the
fees
cannot
be amended thereaiter,
since
the
Colonial Council
can
at
any
time
amend
any
enactment
passed
by
it.
However, it would eliminate the necessi-
ty of having to ratify the entire biil each
