The fire station sustained damage during Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and FEMA has approved funding for the demolition and reconstruction of the station as well as the construction of an internal safe room. The reconstruction of the station is funded by the Public Assistance program, (Project No.: 85069, PW 979), and the construction of the safe room is funded by the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (Project No.: HMGP 4340-0162). VIFEMS currently occupies a modular facility located at the site, which will be removed prior to construction. The proposed activity is consistent to the maximum extent practicable with the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Program and will be conducted in a manner consistent with such program. VIFEMS therefore requests a Consistency Determination. Attached is a detailed report, which demonstrates the project’s compliance with the Coastal Zone Management Program. Should you have any questions or require anything further, please feel free to contact us. Respectfully, Antonio Stevens Director Atts: Federal Consistency Report Hydrology Study Report
