Turnbull Regional Library 4607 Tutu Park Mall St. Thomas, VI 00802 RE: Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture Request for Coastal Consistency for the New Administration Building, St. Croix FEMA Grants Manager (GM) #88176 Dear Commissioner Oriol: The Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture (VIDA) respectfully requests a Decision of Coastal Consistency for the new VIDA St. Croix Administration Building Project. The prior Administration Building was destroyed during Hurricane Maria in September 2017 and is being replaced with a new structure under a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) grant (FEMA Grants Manager (GM) 88176). The documents in support of the Decision of Coastal Consistency for the replacement Administration Building are transmitted herewith. VIDA is proposing to construct a new two-story structure to replace the prior hurricane- damaged Administration Building which has been demolished. The replacement Administration Building will house the administrative functions for the VIDA which will enable the department to better serve the needs of our residents. The project site is located at 1 Estate Lower Love, St. Croix. The aim of this project is to permanently restore the administrative services for VIDA. The new building will be constructed on the site of the demolished building. The proposed project will begin as soon as all regulatory approvals have been granted and the bidding phase completed to select a General Contractor.
