bably sunk
by a torpedo
near Kronstadt
on June
19th.
but
there
is

of

was

18th.—The
Archduke
Joseph
agreed
today
to resign
his
place
as temporary
Director
of the Hungarian
Govt. because
of the
Socialist
objection
to him,
but consented
to
remain
at the
head
of
the
State
for
the
time
bcing
when the
peasant
leaders
and
members
of the reactionary
party protested.
These,
it
is
said,
have
deelared
they
would
cause
the
food
bloekade
against
Buda-
pest
to be reestablished
unless
the Arch-
duke continued

19th —-The Prince

Wales
departed

Halifax
last
night
at 10
o’clock for
Charlotte
Town
aboard
the
‘‘Renown’’
which

corted

less’”’.
The Prince
had
a regular
trium-
phal
procession
through the
north
end
yesterday
with
gaily
decorated
streets
and ckeering
masses
of people.
He was

interested

the
devastated
