Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands:

SECTION 1.  Title 5 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 314, section 3733, subsection (a) is

amended by striking paragraph (2) and by adding the following subsection (c):

“(c) Upon the acquittal of an accused, the Court shall enter an order expunging the 
4 
accused record of the arrest and the criminal complaint or information upon which the accused 
5 
was tried.”

BILL SUMMARY

This bill requires the Court enter an order expunging the arrest record and the complaint 
8 
or information upon which the accused was tried, if the accused was acquitted of the charges.
