PATTERN OF DEVELOPMENT FOR CVI



(Board of Trustees Meeting, June 19 and 20, 1965)



The Board of Trustees acted unanimously to adopt in principle the



following pattern of development:



1) the College will work with a university for three years

beginning in 1966 to establish a four-year teacher education

program;



2) develop concurrently a research and development center;



3) the College during these three years is to be transformed

into a four-year college and will offer its first baccalaureate



degrees in 1970.



It was also agreed by the Board that the President would obtain detailed

cost figures for the total costs of the three-year (1966-1969) university

relationship referred to above, including the costs that will be borne

directly by the College, and that plans will be carefully prepared for an

orderly transition to four-year status, which will be further considered



by the faculty and the Board of Trustees.
