Jackson’s address
delivered

a plat-
form
near
the
seaboard.
The
weather
which had been unsettled
during the day
developed into a
fine,
dry evening,
and
was taken full advantage
of by
persons
from among
all
denomiritions
in
town,
the country
and
Fredericsted.
The
lec-
ture began
shortly
after
7 o’clock,
ter-
minatea
befcre
nine,
and
was remark-
able for the
excelléent
behaviour
ol
the
crowd throughout,
there
having be:n
no
occasion
frr
enforcemer tof order even
at the conclusion
of the speech
when
the
large
mass
of people dispersed
in various
directions.
This feature'
is
of
special
credit
to
those
presen:;it must
cer-
tainly
have
made
a favorable
impres-
sion
upon
the
autherities,
and
is
worthy
of
the
admirasion
and
oride
felt
in
here
con mentng
on
it.
