 22-Year-Old Man Arrested on Assault DV and kidnapping Charges 
Christiansted, St. Croix - On August 30, 2022, Mr. Chesney Southwell Jr. and his legal counsel 
were present at the Police Operations Building at 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted where he was advised 
of his Miranda Rights, and he declined to give a statement.  
Mr. Southwell Jr. was wanted for strangling and causing visible injuries to an adult female on 
August 28, 2022. 22-year-old Chesney Southwell Jr. was placed under arrest for Assault in the 
Second Degree DV, False Imprisonment, kidnapping and Grand Larceny; He was processed and 
booked.  
The Honorable Judge Jomo Meade of the Virgin Islands Superior Court, released Mr. Southwell 
Jr. into his father’s custody, placed him on House Arrest and no bail was set pending his Advice 
of Rights on hearing.
