BOARD'S ROLE IN THE APPROVAL OF FACULTY

APPOINTMENTS



(Board of Trustees Meeting, March 28, 1965)



There was a discussion on the Board's role in the approval of faculty

appointments. The credentials of caadidates for the faculty are circulated

to the Board members. The procedure followed by the College in recruit-

ing new faculty members was explained, including the role of the Dean of

the Faculty and faculty committees and departments. Vacancies are mad2

known and steps are used to find the best available person for each position

As a final step in the appointment process, the candidate's name is brought



before the Board of Trustees for official confirmation of his appointment.
