Thank you for your interest in the Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund 
(ESHPF) Hurricanes Irma and Maria Disaster Recovery Program brought to you by the 
Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR), Virgin Islands State Historic 
Preservation Office (VISHPO) with support from the National Park Service.  This is an 
unprecedented opportunity for impacted historic resources that were damaged from 
Category 5 Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the USVI to apply for federal funding for purposes 
of disaster related historic preservation repairs and recovery projects. 
 
This recovery program will be divided into two phases: Step 1. Eligibility, which requires the 
completion of an information questionnaire about the historic property to DPNR-VISHPO to 
verify if a property is eligible to receive grant funds); and Step 2. Application, which consist 
of the submission of an application for funding following a determination of eligibility in Step 
1.
