GOVERNMENT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES PUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION IN RE ) Docket No. 556 ) Order No. 2/2013 VIRGIN ISANDS TELEPHONE ) COMPANY CERTIFICATION ) OF UNIVERSAL SERVICE FUND ) ) ORDER WHEREAS, on July 31, 2012, the Virgin Islands Telephone Company (hereinafter, “VITELCO”) filed a petition with the Virgin Islands Public Services Commission (hereinafter, “PSC” or the “Commission”) requesting recertification of its designation as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier (hereinafter, “ETC”) and Universal Service Fund (hereinafter, “USF”); and WHEREAS, on August 21, 2012, the Commission’s Technical Consultants submitted a report and analysis to the Commission recommending the approval of VITELCO’s ETC recertification; and WHEREAS, on September 24, 2012, the Commission met in a Special Meeting at the Virgin Islands Port Authority’s Conference Room located at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, upon review and deliberation the Commission voted to adopt the Technical Consultants’ report and recommendations and recertify VITELCO as an ETC in the United States Virgin Islands; and NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby ORDERED that the Technical Consultants’ report be adopted and VITELCO be recertified as an ETC in the United States Virgin Islands.
