QUALIFIED FACILITY CERTIFICATION

ORDER



WHEREAS, on July 1, 2014, the Virgin Islands Public Services Commission

(hereinafter “PSC” or the “Commission”) received an Application from Genesis Brew, LLC

(hereinafter “Genesis Brew”) seeking certification as a Qualifying Facility (hereinafter “QF’”) at

Plot 1 or Parcel No. 5 Estate St. John, Queen Quarter, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands;

and



WHEREAS, on August 22, 2014, the Commission received a report from its Technical

Consultants, Georgetown Consulting Group, Inc. (hereinafter “GCG”)



WHEREAS, on August 26, 2014, the Virgin Islands Public Services Commission held a

Special Meeting in both its offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands,

received testimony from its Technical Consultants, and representatives of Genesis Brew; and



WHEREAS, the Commission APPROVED Genesis Brew Application for certification

as a Qualifying Facility at Plot 1 or Parcel No. 5 Estate St. John, Queen Quarter, St. Croix,

United States Virgin Islands, in PSC Order 57/2014; and



WHEREAS, on October 9, 2015, Genesis Brew submitted correspondence to the

Commission reporting on the progress of Genesis Brew’s wind energy project proposed for

Estate St. John, Queen Quarter and its request for an extension of Genesis Brew’s QF

certification; and



WHEREAS, on October 27, 2015, the Commission held a Special Meeting in both its

offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands; and



WHEREAS, after review and deliberation the Commission voted to GRANT an

extension for a period of one (1) year and that Genesis Brew shall submit progress reports to the

Commission every six (6) months; and



NOW THEREFORE, the Commission finds and ORDERS:

1. That based on the testimony and reports before this Commission, the request for an

extension for Genesis Brew LLC’s Application for QF certification is GRANTED for

a period one (1) year.



2. The certification will expire one year from the date of the meeting unless extended by

the Commission.



3. Genesis Brew shall submit progress reports to the Commission regarding the ongoing

progress and status of Genesis Brew no less than every six months.
