INTERN AGREEMENT



This Agreement is made by and between the Government of the Virgin Islands.



Department of Planning and Natural Resources (“DPNR”) and Cornelius Tyson (“Legal



Intern” or “Intern”) for an Agreement start date of the 6th day of June, 2023, that shall end



on the 29th day of August, 2023 (“work period”). This Agreement is made up. of the. below

provisions and ail attached Addendums.



All parties agree to. the following terms and conditions for participation in the

Implementation of the USVI Coral Reef Initiative program through the temporary hiring of a

Legal Intern:



I. Term.



The term of this agreement shall be for three (3) months.



II. Payment.



A. Intern is being hired by DPR on a temporary basis. The Intern will receive a FIFTEEN



THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($15,000) stipend for their services.



1. liitern.will be performin g work as an independent contractor and does not’qualify to



receive any Government employee fringe benefits, overtime compensation or any other



benefits or compensation;

2. Initial compensation may take up to six (6) weeks for processing;



3. The Intern will be paid-for services performed on behalf of DPNR, Compensation

shall be administered twice during the term of the Intern’s work:



i. The-first payment will be administered four (4} weeks after the Intern’s work

start date.

ii, The second payment will be administered at the end of the work period upon



the submission, review and .approval of any work products. requested. by



DPNR during the course of the Intern’s work period.

5. No payments dispersed to the Intern under this agreement will exceed $15,000.



4. DPNR will not pay separate. travel costs under this Agreement.



Lil. Hours and Location.



A. The Intern’s scheduled hours wil! be forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, for

the duration of this Agreement. To verify time-worked, the Intern may sign a timecard and/or

time sheet or punch a time clock, or use another forin of time verification, as designated by

DPNR. Work sites may include, but are-not limited to, DPNR sites on St. Thomas, St. John or
