Purpose



To provide for a non-refundable enrollment confirmation deposit of $100.



WHEREAS, the University has no means of determining the number of admitted

students who will actually enroll in a given semester, and



WHEREAS, plans must be made for courses required for entering students, and



WHEREAS, plans must be made to provide faculty to teach required courses,

and



WHEREAS, plans must be made for classroom space for students who will

actually enroll, and



WHEREAS, most institutions require that admitted students indicate their

intention to enroll by paying a deposit,



NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED



ha That the Board of Trustees of the University hereby authorizes and

approves the imposition of a non-refundable deposit of $100 toward the tuition costs

for the upcoming semester at least one month in advance of the beginning of the

semester.



a That the Board of Trustees authorizes the President to take the necessary

action to implement the foregoing deposit.

The undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy

of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted

at its meeting on Saturday, April 3, 1993, as recorded in the minutes of said meeting.
