One Gunshot Victim in Discharging of Shots in Grove Place  
 
St. Croix, USVI – On July 4, 2023, at 7:49 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received 
notification from ShotSpotter indicating that 18 shots were fired in the Grove Place near 
Cozy Corner Bar. 
Upon officers’ arrival, they made contact with a female, who stated that she was running for 
cover when the shots began and was inadvertently struck by an unknown vehicle that was 
trying to drive out of the parking lot. She sustained minor injuries as a result of being struck. 
 
While at the scene, officers were notified that a male was present at Juan F. Luis Hospital 
with gunshot wounds to his body. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds, however, is 
in stable condition and receiving further care.
