In accordance with the provisions of Title 4, Chapter 5 § 72 of the Virgin Islands Code, I hereby 
nominate Ms. Melanie L. Turnbull, Esq. to serve as a judge of the Superior Court, Family Division District of 
St. Thomas-St. John. In her capacities as assistant federal public defender and assistant territorial public 
defender, she has advocated with skill, compassion, and empathy. Additionally, she has gained family law 
experience through domestic violence cases and is committed to serving her community. 
Accordingly, it is my pleasure to ask for the advice and consent of the Thirty-Sixth Legislature of the 
Virgin Islands on the nomination of Ms. Melanie L. Turnbull, Esq. Her resume and questionnaire are enclosed 
for your review. I respectfully urge the Legislature to take timely action to advance this nomination to prevent 
any delays in the official functions of the Superior Court, Family Division District of St. Thomas-St. John.
