VIDHS Announces Office Closures in St. Croix District for Holiday 
Celebration  
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (VIDHS) wishes to 
announce that all offices in the St. Croix District will be closed on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. This 
closure is in observance of a planned holiday celebration, during which employees in the St. Croix District 
will come together to celebrate the festive season and foster camaraderie among the team.  
While the administrative offices will be closed, essential services, including the Meals on Wheels and Home 
Makers programs, will continue to operate as usual. VIDHS is committed to ensuring that vital services 
reach those who depend on them, even during special events.  
All 24-hour facilities under the purview of the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services will remain in 
operation, providing uninterrupted services to the community.  
We believe in the importance of coming together as a team to celebrate the holiday season and reflect on the 
meaningful work we do throughout the year," said Averil George, VIDHS Commissioner Nominee. "While 
our offices in the St. Croix District will be closed for this special occasion, we want to assure the public that 
essential services will continue without interruption."
