Dear Ms. Chester:
This letter is to formally request an extension, until
January 14, 1991, of the deadline by which you expect to receive
comments regarding the proposed Administrative Order on Consent
recently submitted to Esso Standard Oil S.A. Ltd (Esso), Texaco
Caribbean Inc. (Texaco) and L'Henri Inc. (0*henry) in the matter
of reference. This extension is required in order for the above
name parties to be able to prepare a joint response as well as a
join draft work plan for submission to the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency that will streamline the negotiation process
with the agency. The fact that these parties were subject to
and are making arrangements to address a recent Unilateral Order
from EPA with respect to the establishment of an alternate water
supply for the Tillett property, as well as the proximity of the
Christmas Holidays, prevent us from from coordinating among all
respondents the preparation of joint comments regarding the
proposed administrative order.
In addition to the above, on behalf of Esso, Texaco and
0'Henry we hereby request an opportunity to confer with you in
