St. John Couple Arrested After a Physical Altercation   
 
St. John, USVI – On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at approximately 2:42 a.m., the Leander 
Jurgen Command officers were dispatched to the area of Chocolate Hole in reference to a 
domestic disturbance. 
 
Upon the officers’ arrival, contact was made with a husband and wife who stated that at 
approximately 1:00 a.m., the wife arrived home and was questioned by the husband as to why 
she was out late. The husband and wife stated that a verbal altercation ensued which later 
escalated into a physical altercation involving a weapon causing injuries.  
 
Due to conflicting statements, both persons were arrested based on the domestic violence 
statue of the Virgin Islands. Santa Nunez, age 47, and Ramon Degracia, age 46, were charged 
with Assault Third Degree- DV, and Simple Assault- DV. Both were remanded to the Bureau 
of Corrections pending their Advice of Rights Hearing. 
 
This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Anyone with
