reason
for
bringing

up is to make
sure
that
the ¢mall holder
roads
are
kept
in
as
good
condition
as
the others,
and
also
to relieve
them
of
road
work.
1 have
in
my possessiona
survey
of
the
road
work
on the islend
and it totals
11,483
feet.
The Chairman
o° the
Road
Commissicn
has
estimated
the
crst
of
repairs
to
the
roads
to be
4bout
two and
a
half
cents
per
foot or
$25.00 per
thous:nd
feet.
I believe
an
wverage
of
SIO.OO
per
hundred
feet
can
keep
the roads
in order.

sixth
line of
the

paragraph
be
change1 to
the
word
‘‘suen’’ so
as
to
make
the
line read
“‘the
road
work
in-
cumbent
on
such small
estates
be allotted
to the Muaicipality.”” {Government
would
prefer
to
have
this
matter
cieared
up
today.
