AMENDMENT No. 1 of

SUBGRANT AGREEMENT



THIS AMENDMENT made as of the 29th day of December _, 2021 in the Territory

of the Virgin Islands, by and between the Government of the Virgin Islands DEPARTMENT OF

PROPERTY AND PROCUREMENT, on behalf of the DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION

(hereinafter referred to as “Government”) and VIRGIN ISLANDS RESOURCE CENTER

FOR THE DISABLED, INC.., a Virgin Islands private non-profit of 74B and 75 Kronprindsens

Gade St. Thomas, Virgin Islands (hereinafter referred to as “Sub-Grantee”).



Both parties witness to being duly authorized to execute this agreement and will attest

accordingly when and where necessary.



WITNESSETH



WHEREAS, pursuant to Agreement No. GO07DOET19 approved by the Governor on

September 14, 2019 and its Renewal Option No. 1 Agreement No. G011DOET21 which was

approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Property and Procurement on December 16,

2020 (which constitute and are hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”), the Government

contracted with Sub-Grantee to utilize Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA”) to

provide Sub-Grantee funds that will enable states and territories to provide adult education and

literacy activities, including Adult Basic Education (“ABE”), Adult Secondary Education (“ASE”)

and English Language Acquisition (“ELA”), to assist adults become literate and obtain knowledge

and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency; to assist those who are parents to obtain

the education skills necessary to become full partners in the education development of their

children; and to assist adults in the completion of a secondary school education; and



WHEREAS, the Sub-Grantee provided services to up to seventy (70) participants, as

authorized by the AEFLA under the project, Adult Education and Literacy Public/Private

Partnership Network at 74B and 75 Kronprindsens Gade, St. Thomas, V.L; and



WHEREAS, the Contract expires pursuant to its terms on December 30, 2021; and



WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend Agreement No. G011DOET21, to extend its term by

approximately one (1) year, and to increase the funding by Eighty-Six Thousand Eight Hundred

Twenty-Four Dollars and Twenty-Six Cents ($86,824.26); and



NOW THEREFORE, for mutual and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of

which is hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto agree as follows:
