Action Taken by the UVI Board of Trustees 
The Board approved to extend the Strategic Plan 2017 to 2018 so that it 
would be in line with the reaffirmation of the accreditation process. The Plan 
would be extended to 2018 to allow for the University the engage in a self-
study which is the kind of planning that is needed for the development of a 
Strategic Plan. 
The recommendation was based on the fact that the University was going 
through its reaffirmation of accreditation process and a part of the process 
which will culminate in 2017, requires the institution to engage in a self-study 
which is the kind of planning that would be done for the development of a 
Strategic Plan. The present Strategic Plan will also expire in 2017, presenting 
a parallel process which will involve many other people focusing on the self –
study process. 
The Board of Trustees, at its meeting of June 6, 2015, voted unanimously to 
approve to extend the Strategic Plan 2017 to 2018.
