Governor Bryan Appoints Deputy Attorney General Ian Clement as Acting Attorney General

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – Governor Albert Bryan Jr. today announced the appointment of Deputy Attorney General Ian Clement as Acting Attorney General of the U.S. Virgin Islands, effective immediately. This follows the resignation of Attorney General Ariel Smith.

“Deputy Attorney General Clement is a respected and experienced attorney with a deep understanding of the U.S. Virgin Islands legal system,” Governor Bryan said. “I am confident that he will provide strong leadership and continuity for the Department of Justice during this transition.”

The Governor’s Office will announce a plan for a permanent replacement for Attorney General Smith in the coming weeks.
